From Page to Practice: A Therapy-Informed Book Series

A structured, growth-oriented educational workshop designed to help participants apply psychological concepts and evidence-based skills to everyday life.

What Is From Page to Practice?

From Page to Practice is a therapy-informed educational workshop designed to help participants move beyond simply reading about psychological concepts and begin applying them in everyday life.

Each series centers around a thoughtfully selected book related to topics such as anxiety, perfectionism, mindfulness, self-compassion, psychological flexibility, and emotional well-being.

Through guided discussions, structured reflection, and practical exercises, participants explore how these ideas show up in their own lives and how meaningful change develops through consistent practice.

More than a traditional book club, From Page to Practice is a structured, growth-oriented space for reflection, connection, and learning.

Participants are encouraged to engage with the material thoughtfully, ask questions, and practice new ways of relating to themselves and their experiences.

Whether you are already familiar with these concepts or encountering them for the first time, the goal is not perfection or performance—it is developing greater awareness, flexibility, and intentionality over time.

Featured Book: July 2026 Series

Get Out of Your Mind and Into Your Life by Steven C. Hayes, PhD

Our current series is centered around Steven Hayes’ influential ACT-based workbook, Get Out of Your Mind and Into Your Life.

This book introduces readers to core principles of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), including mindfulness, psychological flexibility, acceptance, cognitive defusion, and values-based action. Rather than teaching people to eliminate difficult thoughts or emotions, ACT focuses on changing one’s relationship with internal experiences while building a life guided by personal values and meaningful action.

Participants will have opportunities to discuss key concepts from the book, reflect on how these ideas apply to their own experiences, and practice skills intended to support greater flexibility, awareness, and emotional resilience in daily life.

Previously featured books have included:

  • The Anxious Perfectionist

  • Additional selections focused on anxiety, growth, mindfulness, and emotional wellness

Is From Page to Practice Group Therapy?

No. From Page to Practice is a psychoeducational workshop, not a psychotherapy group. Participation in this program does not establish a therapist–patient relationship and should not be considered a substitute for mental health treatment.

The purpose of this workshop is educational: to provide participants with opportunities to learn, reflect, discuss psychological concepts, and practice applying ideas from selected readings to everyday life.

While discussions may occasionally involve personal insight or reflection, facilitators do not provide psychotherapy, diagnosis, treatment planning, or clinical intervention during meetings.

Individuals seeking mental health treatment are encouraged to consult with a licensed mental health professional for appropriate clinical care.
