Our practice focuses on OCD, anxiety, and related concerns, with an emphasis on understanding the patterns that keep difficulties going and practicing different responses. For OCD, our primary approach is Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) enhanced by Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). Depending on the concern and clinician, other approaches include Habit Reversal Training (HRT) for body-focused repetitive behaviors and Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) for PTSD.Treatment includes practical work between appointments, with goals connected to your everyday life. Our clinicians have different areas of focus, and we consider those differences when helping you find an appropriate match.Meet Our Team

Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) is a first-line psychological treatment for OCD. It involves approaching situations, thoughts, or experiences that trigger obsessions while practicing reducing compulsions, including mental rituals, reassurance seeking, and avoidance. You and your therapist plan the work together. The aim is to help you respond more flexibly to uncertainty and discomfort while participating more fully in life.At River City OCD Clinic, we enhance ERP with Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to connect this practice with willingness, psychological flexibility, and personal values.Learn About Our Approach to ERP
Evidence-based care combines the best available research with clinical expertise and your needs, preferences, and circumstances. It means choosing an approach with research support for the concern being treated, explaining how it works, and reviewing whether it is helping. Different concerns may call for different methods. For OCD, our primary approach is ERP enhanced by ACT. Your therapist will discuss the proposed approach, help you set meaningful goals, and adjust treatment as needed.
Many of our clinicians work with adults. Some also provide treatment for children and adolescents; age ranges and availability vary by clinician. When working with young people, treatment may include parents or caregivers. This can involve learning how to support practice between sessions and respond to OCD or anxiety without getting pulled into repeated reassurance or avoidance.Contact us to discuss the person’s age and concerns so we can help identify an appropriate clinician.Contact Us About Availability
